hello i got a service call and their phones only ring 4 times. the central office is still sending ring boltage but the cics only responds 4 times. the caller still hears more rings and the calls can still be answered from one of the nortel phones. is there any program that would do this. thanks dave

Check your DRT and VM settings

Could be a leaky cap in the line card...does it happen on all the lines or only one?

i beleive the drt is off, they do have a vm but it doesnt work anymore. im not sure if it happens on other lines, i need to call and find out. thanks dave

If they have a voice mail that no longer is working, the system may still be programmed for it and sending calls to a non existant VM after 4 rings. With DRT off they will stay in nowheresvilles.

if it was drt i wouldnt be able to answer at another nortel phone after it quits ringing would i. when i call in i can hear it still ringing on my cell phone and i can answer the call after several more than 4 rings.
