Can't find anyway to do it in the manuals, so I thought I would check with the brain trust here.

Anyone know anyway on the SX50 to do what I would call a Direct to ARS ? Being able to dial call and access trunk routing without dialing the access code. I'm looking at some properties that want to use exts instead of private lines for the CC readers.

In doing a little research it seems like this might be accomplished by setting up an extension as a ringdown to a speed dial. Has anyone done this before?

Dane, find out what the number is, put it in ARS and route it without any modification, same route day and night, etc. If anybody else dials the number, they're just going to get a computer. Let all 3 levels have access and away we go! smile Edit: Oops, doubt if this will be a problem but conflict dialing is 100/09/e. John C.

Reprogram the dialer to dial the access code. Their support will help you. I've done it many times, though some CC mach companies insist on using dedicated lines

Automatic Ringdown Circuit Groups 2 - 9 signal the destination programmed in Abbreviated Dial numbers 12 - 19 (102 - 109), respectively

Programming
Setup a new COS:
Commands 121 - 129, Class of Service Programming, Register 2:
• Set Automatic Ringdown Circuit (field d) to 1 (Enable) for Hotline Groups 2 - 9.
Assign new COS to your extension.

Set extension type:
Commands 301 - 310, Extension Programming, All Registers:
• Set Extension Type (field c) to 2 - 9 (Hotline Groups 2 ® 9). Default is 0 (Extension)

Program the apprpriate speed dial:
Press FUNCTION. Dial 65. The LCD displays:
CHANGE ABBREVIATED DIALING ENTRY?
• Enter a valid index Number (10 - 99 or 100 - 999) - the LCD displays the selected Index Number and a dash. If, for example, 10 was entered, the LCD displays: 10–. Note that if a digit string is already assigned to the selected Index Number, the LCD does NOT display it.
• Enter the digit string. This new entry replaces any previous entry. The digit string can include special function codes. Be sure to include your ARS or Trunk Group Access code.

I'm pretty sure that's all you need.
