Longtime customer asked me to take over maintainance on system he bought along with an office. In storage for awhile. I brought the system up several times on my bench prior to installation at the new premise and looked at some variables. Upon fire up it hung at "system startup in progress" screen. I finally did a cold start and got the system running, but am having a hard time programming. How can I determine the software revision level so that I can assure that I have the correct documentation? I got the manual (I think). Some of the program numbers I am trying to utilize are not recognized by the system (such as system report or voicemail port assignment).
Thanks for your help,
JE

SDJ:
Check out the post about "inheriting a 124i" on Jan 5th. If you have the manual (there are three manuals--Hardware--PC Programming--and Programming) that is the first step. If you don't---then click on the Manuals link on this site, If you're going to support & program this thing---you should have all three manuals. Also---what model of phones do you have?? I believe that you will have to have a display set --I think 24 button. If you just have the 92550, that won't work for programiing. Good Luck.

Thank God there's somebody out there!
I have hardware and software manual. Have not yet found a way to cause the system to divulge the software revision number so that I can be certain to have the correct documentation.
I bought the manual and it came with somepages missing. I requested that the missing pages be faxed and when I went to usre them at the customer site I realized that they were from some other version of the documentation. The bulk of the manual received is p/n 92000SWG08 Issue 1-0, the "replacement" pages are from manual p/n 92000SWG05. There are apparently at least two versions of this documentation, or 92000SWG05 is a related product. I require the System software version to feel assured that I am working with the correct documentation for the system I inherited. Some program numbers, from ...08 are not recognized by the system.
Thanks for your help,
JE

Ahem, all's well that ends well. Contacted a fellow phone dawg nearby and I'm handing off to him. He serviced this actual system and has moved it once or twice. With one program number, he helped me cure the stations not coming up, and with one more, not in the manual, but contained in release notes to dealers, I cured the "9,9" requirement for single line digital users. Better he spend an hour than I spend another full day fooling around and spinning my wheels and making mistakes. It's the better customer service as I see it. Thanks to all you phone guys out there who care about our work.
Thanks for your help,
JE
