I just installed a CICS system with v7 software and ran into one question with hunt groups. We'd like to use the hunt group feature for a group of users that staff a help desk. The busy options are straightforward, but what we'd like to do is if no one is there (after hours or someone gets up to get a cup of coffee) have the call just roll into a VM box.
I can't figure out any way to do this. Is it possible?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks,
Glenn

HGs don't follow CFNA/CFB rules. You need to create a vm box for the hunt group (hunt group dn). In HG programming set the overflow to VM DN.

Thanks Marv. I'll give that a try.

OK - while you can set up a mailbox with the same DN as the hunt group (in my case 290), HG programming won't let you specify that mailbox for overflow. It only will let you specify a mailbox in the normal number range.
When I do that busy calls overflow properly, but on no answer it rings until it hits its timeout setting and then goes back to the root of the CCR table.
Any other ideas? I appreciate the help.

Glen, set the oveflow to the main VM dn extension. As long as you have a VM box created with the same number of your hunt group, it should find its' way in there.

Johny,
Maybe I'm missing something obvious here and if so I apologize, but while I can create a VM box numbered 290, the setup for the HG won't accept that number.
I've tried setting up a VM box in the normal range (231), setting the overflow to that VM box, but unanswered calls still just ring back to the CallPilot AA and never go to the VM231 box.
Thanks,
Glenn

Hunt Groups have a special DN. You must go into your hunt group to find that DN. Then you make a mailbox to match that. You can't make a mailbox then try to make your huntgroup match it. Once you know your hunt group DN, make your mailbox to match, then your overflow should be to the DN of VM and not the DN of the huntgroup. You find the VM DN by F985.
