We've acquired a customer who has a CICS installed by Alltel, with their brand molded into the plastic housing. Alltel no longer installs or supports system equipment. We performed a startup to restore factory default programming. We tested a FlashVM on another CICS to confirm it's working properly, however it will not sync with the "Alltel" CICS. If anyone would be aware of a feature override for systems that may have been proprietary to Alltel, any details to allow system to recognize the FlashVM would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you connect the flash to one or two of the first 8 ports? The CICS may have restricted sw.

This is 4x16 CICS and 2 port FlashVM. The last five extensions are vacant. I tested these with system phones, they worked perfectly. I connected to each of the five vacant ports with no luck. I'm beginning to think it is restricted.

No such thing as restricted software for voice mail. Also doesn't matter who installed it, branded the KSU or whatever.

Your software has to be compatible with each other.

Check the link at the start of the "Nortel" forum for Nortel FAQ's for a compatibility chart. Most likely there is a software conflict.

As Dave says, check the software versions. How long are you giving the Flash to boot?

Sorry to not respond for so long.......
As far as restrictions, I was thinking of something w/ the KSU, like the short-lived Partner Endeavor, which was basically a non expandable 308 Processor.
I gave it plenty of time to boot. I will check the compatibility list. Wouldn't be too surprised if my answer lies there. I trusted someone else's assurances they were compatible.

Thank you!

The CICS is a 4.1, the FlashVM is a 1.7, so it looks like the Flash needs to be a 1.9 according to the compatibility chart.

Thanks guys.

That is correct minimum 1.9.
