Where do y'all source the VTC boards nowadays? I used to get them at Alltel Supply, but this company doesn't use Alltel Supply (if they are even around anymore). I like the VTC boards better than the Allentel ones because I think they are better made. The Allentel ones never line up the same from board to board. Also, the VTC boards use metal pop-in threads (sorry...forgot the name of them), instead of just using wood screws into the board.

Does Jenny carry VTC? How do the VTC boards compare in price to the Allentel boards (don't give specific price unless sending via PM, only specify "higher than Allentel" or "lower than Allentel", or "the same as Allentel").

We use full blueboards (yes, only blue), half, and quarter, and then we also use quarter mushroom (white) boards.

Thanks!

You are in luck Justin. Solonics, Inc. is a huge supplier of these backboards to many Bell companies. They are located in Wine Country, CA, and they sell directly to us. Their stuff is good, I mean really good and their quality beats anything that VTC makes in my opinion.

Sprint North Supply dropped VTC as a supplier and I bought up all of their remaining inventory which wasn't much, maybe 50 total 183A1's. Out of desperation, I took a chance with Solonics and have never looked back.

Check them out at "www.solonics.com". I think that you will be impressed with their products. From what I can tell, they are very willing/capable of taking care of just about any order.

I just tested the link in this message when I previewed it and it's redirected to some importer so I added quotes so it wouldn't become an automatic link. Just copy/paste the name yourself and you'll find them. It's well worth it; I love their products.

Thanks for the referral, Ed! Their stuff looks pretty good. What do you like about it, compared to VTC? Do you know how their pricing compares to the Graybar product?

Have you tried anything else besides their boards?

I have used just about everybody's backboards and the pricing at Solonics can't be beat. You are buying directly from the manufacturer with them. I like the fact that their colors are bright and they offer so many unique configurations. They will also make specially-configured backboards for you.

Do they use similar construction methods to VTC? Like do they use the screw sleeves like VTC, or do they screw right into the particle board (on the wood boards, that is...I don't like the metal boards).

I agree about using wood ones in case you need to shave a little off or drill a hole to come in the back. They make them both ways. When wood, no they don't use the spin nuts or whatever they call them. The use a pretty coarse threaded screw. Their metal ones are about a dollar more and are really nice. The metal they use is much more rigid than the ATT or Suttle ones; they don't flex at all.

I can send you one to look at if you want. I just got a whole bunch of them in so let me know.
