can someone tell me how to program a night button on the kxtd 816? do i have to set the day/night to manual or can i leave it on auto and just switch to night when everyone goes to lunch and then switch back when they return. and then have the system switch automatically at 5:00 pm. does the button have to be on 101, and what else do i need besides the button? thanks

It depends on the version of the system. Some have a lunch and break mode. The older ones have a seperate code for day and night. The later ones use a toggle feature and button assignment is dependant on COS. MrG

If you have vmail I would let the vmail take control of this. if not then you can do auto or manual. ulitmately up to client and depends on version as MrG says.

this looks like you are programming a separate button for night and day. is 780# day mode and 781# night mode. do i need two buttons. and if i program a button can i still use the system auto day/night.

That is what I'm saying. It depends on the version. MrG
