We have had a bizarre ongoing problem with our TVA50/TAW848 units, hooked up via DPT. I asked some fellas on another board about it, as well as Panasonic, and we're all stumped.

Wondering if someone who is particularly expert with both these machines can figure this out or have any comments. Before I describe the situation, you should know that Panasonic has in fact been able to replicate this malfunction on their equipment and is puzzled.

The problem specifically concerns extension-level caller id logging on Portable Stations when the TVA 50 transfers a call to a PS Ring Group.

When the TVA50 aa transfers a call to the appropriate icd group on the 848, caller id is displayed on ALL phones appropriately. The group log works properly, as does extension logging on the wired PT's we have.

-- HOWEVER --

On PS's which are part of a PS ring group, which is part of the ICD group which is rung by the TVA50, even though caller id info is displayed correctly when the PS's ring, THE CALL IS NOT LOGGED ON THE PS EXTENSION WHICH ACTUALLY ANSWERS THE CALL.

-- HOWEVER --

When I direct calls to the PS ring group from the taw848 DLI as a test, the answering PS logs fine at the extension level.

-- FURTHERMORE --

When the PS's are listed in the ICD group as individual extensions, as opposed to as part of the PS ring group (and the PS ring group is removed from the ICD), THE ANSWERING PS DOES LOG THE CALL PROPERLY IN ITS EXTENTION LOG.

It seems that no matter what I do, the TVA50 passes caller id to a PS ring group, but then the answering PS doesn't log the call.

Since I want to conserve Cell Station antenna usage, I don't want to list all the PS's individually, but if I have them as a PS Ring Group, we lose a lot of logged calls which is a problem.

 ANY IDEAS? MUCH APPRECIATED. Accolades to whomever can help.

Brokeda-- curent config. is DLI goes to VM port then TVA transfers to ICD group as appropriate (or transfer to mbox at night, disconnects certain known telemarketer numbers, etc). What are you suggesting different? Sorry I don't know what you mean can you please clarify I'll try anything!

I think what brokeda is saying is in the TVA 50 set the transfer to ( transfer disconnect) the normal setup is transfer and take back on no answer. On the PBX settings in the TVA50 set transfer to transfer disconnect not flash. This is how I have mine setup and I get all Caller ID info on PT and PS. (KEN).

BROKEDA AND PBX: YOU ROCK! YOU FIXED IT!!!

Someone (me) must have defaulted the unit and reset the sequence to FX instead of FXD. FXD is the correct sequence right?

THANK YOU!

I always use FXD this allows the calls to follow the phone settings. FX is the default which means on no answer the voicemail pulls the call back it does not follow the setup of the phone on RNA.
Glad it worked.
