I have a quick question:

It's been going on for a while... just got very annoying. I cannot find any logic to this.

I have a message light ON, I press the button "message" and it gives me busy signals and "NOT VALID" on the screen. I cannot figure out what triggers this behavior. Mostly it happens whn the ext. is in any of these: DND, transfer to CO, to ext, etc.

You have your answer right there: it indicates the set is in call forward/dnd mode.

From the user guide:

The FWD/DND button light shows the current status as follows:
Off: Both features are not set.
Red on: FWD mode
Flashing red slowly: DND mode
• The Group FWD button light shows the current status as follows:
Off: No set
Red on: FWD mode
• The system has two modes: (1) FWD/DND Cycle Switch Mode and (2) FWD/DND Setting
Mode. Ask your manager what mode your system is in if you are not sure.

Thank you. but from what manual did you copy this? is it from VM or PBX manual?

My manager is myself.

The message light always comes on when the message arrives. It never comes on when any forwarding options or DND is enabled.

It does not allow me to retrieve the message the normal way. I have to just dial 100 and get in the voice mail that way.

Please note: I am not talking about the light on FWD/DND button. Talking about the message light in the right upper corner of the phone.

what system is it?

if you press the message key with the handset down it should show where the message came from.

do a 700xxx or 701xxx xxx=ext number
this will turn light off you are inadvertently lighting the light !!

when the message is received, and I press the message key, it shows 100: Voice-mail

kxtvet - what do you mean? people leave a message and it comes on. Isn't it suppose to come on when a message was left?

If you dial 100 do you get voicemail Box of the extension you are calling from or thank you for calling voicemail system

OBT:

Sounds like you have analog integration instead of apts integration when you press intercom and message it should go right to please enter your password followed by the pound sign....

this is how it is most of the time

just like now I got up, my phone was in FWD ALL. I recewived 4 messages. Light is ON.

I press the button and it does not work. says invalid

just pressed MSG button when the phone is on hook... it says 100: VM

then turned the spkrphone on, and it worked fine... weird
