Hi, I am hoping for help in laymans terms. Nobody seems to offer support for this Telrad 8/18 system, and my problem shouldnt be that big a deal anyway.

My experience is with Prostar 6/16 and Panasonic, This Telrad was here before me, and I know very little about it.

I appologize if I give too much detail.

I am moving a phone from one place to another. I had 5 working phones hooked up. I removed one phone and moved it to a new location. When I plugged it in, I got the light scrolling along the 4 horizontal buttons.

I Determined the jack was wrong because no phones worked on it, and the phone I was pluging in worked on other jacks. I rewired the jack. NOW, the phone I am moving does not work in ANY jack (just get the scrolling lights, including if I plug it in it's original location), and if I take a different phone and plug it in to the new jack, it works. I should say that all the phones are the 16 button set with no display.

So I know all my jacks work.
I also know the phone was working before.
I have an extra phone that I don't know if it works or not, but does the same as the phone I am moving.

I assume there is a simple solution, but nothing I have tried works so far. I am afraid to do much more because I can't afford to go down another phone.

Any help?

You need to ID the phone.
Each port on the system (ELD card) can have upto 2 ext's programmed on them. ie 200/201
So the scrolling lite ask you what ext do you the phone to be. 200# or 201#. Also each port has to be programmed for the type phone you are using on it. The non disply phone can be a speaker phone set or an 16 button set (check the label on the underside of the phone) this can also cause you a issue.

So, how do I tell the phone that?

It is a speaker phone BTW. All the phones are the same.

The label just says 16 button set, the part # is 79-420-0000/B

O.K. now something is happening...

The jack in question is connected by jumpers to ext 203 at the block. Nothing seemed to work, so I plugged in the phone, typed 203# and now the mute button is flashing.

Something happened, but still no phone.

Same result, 2 different phones.

I have nothing. No software, no manuals. Just phones and a box.

Maybe a programmer kit and some tech support by phone is in order.
