On the 8 pin module, that goes into the rs232 of the col card. The tab that clicks in, has to be up or facing you.

Still confused, are you referring to the latch on the RJ45 plug?

Now I'm confused because usually with the modular plugs, with tab DOWN, and looking at the side of the plug opposite to the side with the tab, the contacts are numbered from 1 to 8 going from left to right. Are you numbering the contacts differently?

Okay I have looked at the printouts you supplied from the manual, and indeed, the manufacturer is numbering the plug contacts from 1 to 8 from left to right with the tab UP. This is of course opposite to the standard, common way of numbering.

How embarrassing, I knew it was something basic.

SMDR on outgoing is only sent for calls of 16 seconds or longer. All my test calls were short so didn't get outputted.
