I found out today that on this phone system (DK424) you can call someone and have the Msg button blink letting them know you where trying to reach them. To clear it you have to pick up a line and hit #409.

This was nice to know as I am new to this phone system and its options.

Anything else out there like this that would be good to know? I cannot find a manual around this place and it would be nice to know some of the other features

Thanks in advance smile

One word of caution on this, if the system has voicemail this will also light the light and if the user doesn't have a display phone they press the key expecting to go into voicemail but rings the extn instead and if the originating extn doesn't answer the user thinks there is a fault with the voicemail then reports a fault to us.
so it can cause confusion.

Every new system I install I disable that ability for all extensions if the system has a voicemail.

How would one set their DK 424 to do this?

Newtecky is right as rain on disabling the ability for users to turn on the MSG waiting light. That is turned off in technician programming. It makes people crazy when there is no voicemail message and the light is blinking and blinking and blinking.

Do you just want a user manual for your 424?

If that is all you want I can send a .pdf.

Program 35....on all station ports....

LED 04: Message Waiting (RCV)
If the message waiting indication is not desired on an electronic, digital or standard telephone, this
program can be used to deny it. This does not affect that station’s ability to send a message waiting
indication to another station ([PDN] or [PhDN]). Do not use this option to enable/disable MW
lamps on standard telephones; use LED 03 for standard telephones.
