I'm trying to put NetworkeManager 5.20 downloaded directly from the fyi site on my Toshiba as the Dell is acting up a bit.
Everything works fine until it comes to the SQL files and then it says they couldn't be installed.
I have my Windoz firewall off, don't know how to get past this point.
Thanks, Bunnie

Check out the SQL install log as it will report where it stopped. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Summary.txt It will probably be the MSXML 6.0 Parser where it fails.
If it is the "MSXML 6.0 Parser" then remove it from Add/Remove programs and try the install again.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. Being a mac person, this is not such a fun job.
Thanks, Bunnie

Problem identified at least. I bought my Toshiba from Circuit City with XP PRO installed and never had to reinstall Windoz until this past week.
The restore disk is XP Home and while I have the genuine, authenticated OEM software sticker on the bottom of the Toshiba, neither Microsoft nor Toshiba will do anything to get me an upgrade CD.
Toshiba puts in the wrong CD and now tells me to go pound sand, the most arrogant customer service in the world except for Microsoft who when told that the genuine sticker is there with all the serial numbers and bar codes and activation codes, I should not bother to call them as once it leaves Microsoft it is not their problem.
Why do people steal software, well it certainly seems they want to get even with people who cheat them. I paid for the real software and when I need help, both Toshiba and Microsoft tell me to F off.
When corporations with billions of dollars in profits for selling horrid software screw the end user, they deserve anything they get. They don't even want to see a photo of the certificates so they can look up the info and get me restored, just go buy another copy, we are too busy to help.
