I try to keep up with my customers warranty dates, however sometimes i don't do too good of a job. Aztec repair (the only warranty repair for Vodavi) charges $55 to repair a phone and you sometimes don't find out one is out of warranty till the FedEx guy shows up with a COD which adds $20 to the repair cost. I beleive the two year warrnty stoped at SFD3 and the five year picked up at SFD4. I need to know how to tell the mfg date by the sn.
thanks george

the way they do it on the newer models is the serial number starts with sf and a letter and a number and some other digits. the letter is the month a is jan b is feb and so on. the number is the year. 7 is 2007. with older sets it may start with sb and the month and year in the same format

Well i called Vertical..... serial numbers have three letters and six numbers. And davetel is right the third digit, a letter, is the month A through L the forth digit, a number, is the year 1 through 0 for 2001 through 2010 (I guess they will do something different come 2011) two year waranty equipment stoped with SFC400000 or March 2004 and five year waranty picked up at SFD400000 or April 2004.

Here's how to read it. Example: SFB600543
B6 is all you have to know to look at. B corresponds to February and 6 is 2006. Also, if your code is less than 4 months from the manufacture date then you can have it replaced as an OOB failure.
