System is an XTS w/ a Digital Talkpath voicemail. It appears that the one of the ports is not functioning. Any help?

If the first or last voice mail port is not communicating with the XTS, then a voice mail alarm will be indicated. You should call each of the extension numbers that are your voice mail ports to see if they answer. Once you find the one that doesn't answer (if that's the case), you need to verify the connection between the systems. This might be something that you should consider hiring a local technician to troubleshoot since that's about as much information that we can give here in a public forum.

If this alarm was caused by just a temporary condition, you can dial 606 without lifting the handset from the attendant's station to clear the alarm message.

Do a hard reboot of the voice mail and watch all the lights. When all come back on..call into each port to see if you get an answer, if not then connect a phone in place of the port and make sure it's not a DTIB or wiring problem. If the phone works then you could have a bad port in the voice mail.

That is the thing. Both extensions 122 and 123 will answer. Just not at the same time? I have hard rebooted. Dialed 606. Nothing happens. The technician who installed the system for me won't do anything. The apparent local dealer won't do anything, simply wants to sell a new voice mail?

I'm sorry, I gave you the wrong VM alarm clear code. Dial 656 from the attendant's station to clear the message. It sounds like the voice mail is functioning properly otherwise.

WOW, ED THANKS A MILLION!!!! I have had the local people wanting to sell me a 2000.00 + voice mail when all we needed was a simple code. I would have GLADLY paid them a fee to take care of the problem. INCREDIBLE!!!!! WOWZER!!!! ITS been dead for about 2 months.

Glad to help. Thanks for checking back and letting us know the outcome. It helps everyone here to learn these little tricks. I am sorry that you had a bad experience. I assure you that most dealers do not operate in the manner in which you were treated. Feel free to check back anytime you have a question. There's quite a strong base of knowledge here at this forum from TV's to toasters.
