We are converting from AT&T Spirit system to Vodavi STSe system.
I need information on distinctive ring, if it is available on this system.
Everyone scrambles when the phone rings because they don't know if it is an inter-office call, or an outside line, which the office personnel should answer.

Sure, there are 36 different tones, however the truth is that only about 12 of them sound much different from each other. Make that 35 tones, since one of them is "no ring".

At the phone, dial 695 + 00. This will allow you to hear the default tone. Dial 01 to hear that tone, 02, 03, etc. until you hear the one you want, then press the SPEED button to save it. Remember that tone 36 is no ring.

If they are scrambling to answer internal calls, you might want to move the "HTP" switch on the front edge of the phone (below the hold button) to the "H" position for hands-free answer on intercom so that a ringing tone won't be presented.

Yes, the STSe does have distinctive rings that can be programmed for each phone and/or for each line.

You can make the lines sound differently through flash 40 programming. You can make ext.'s sound differently by using the codes that Ed gave you above.

I am trying to self teach myself this phone system (Starplus STSe). We have 4 lines (3 outside lines & 4th is to an intercom system at the front doors). Can I change the ringer sound for this one line so they know if they need to go to the door without picking up the phone?

The door phone is connected to a station port.

Note I am completely new to this system and I am not a telephone tech at all.

Howdy Accurate, and welcome aboard.
Yes you may change the ringer tone on a per station basis found in STATION USER GUIDE.

To change a different tone for a individual line i
think that information would be found in Installer
level programming, which would require Installer password,as well as the Installation manual.

How about a different ring at a station ONLY when someone has forwarded their calls to that station. Does the STSe support this?

For example, when our receptionist leaves for lunch, she forwards her calls to another station. My clients would like to hear a different ring when it is a 'forwarded' call. Another expressed that she would like to see a light or an indicator on her LCD screen to let her know that they will be receiving forwarding calls. I realize that the display will show that when the call is ringing, but they would like to be able to know when she has taken forward off I suppose.

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff, welcome to the board. Please open a new topic for your question. It helps with the search feature for future reference for others as well as keeps things clean.

Thanks
