hello,

i have a at&t 944 in my house. just one line, and a few ext's on same line. every so often, the led for the line, will light up for about 2-3 seconds, when the 944 and other ext's are not in use. is this the co, checking the line? just curious...bob

Sounds like you also have another phone on the line that checks for messages on phone company voice mail. I don't think the 944 does that.

bill,

i do not have telco voice mail on my line. i do have two cordless, one with an answering machine, an old itt touch pad, and old rotary phone, all on this line tho. the one cordless w/out the answering machine does display msg waiting sometimes tho! its not a bother, i was just curious! thanks for the info!!!...bob
