I'm looking for some informed views (personal views or other) on the 3CX system.
Is it considered a business system or a geek toy?
Is it worth bothering with to become a dealer/installer or should I look elsewhere?

Hiya Mike, I've been selling 3CX in the UK for a couple of years now and really rate it. I've done evaluation on plenty of SME IPPbx kit (Zultys, Epygi, Linksys and others) and have settled on 3CX.
I love the flexibility and innovation of the product, and they've really improved functionality with version 9 release (2 months ago). Very few bugs that I've experienced.
You'll need to know your way around a LAN to get the best out of it, and it takes a while to work out which gateways price out best for your business niche. Not sure what Canadian 3CX support is like, but my UK Disti is very good.
The free license (2 simultaneous calls) is a good idea but I prefer to pitch at the entry paid version for small clients.
Snom have just released their own soft PBX which may be good, however you need to sell their phones with it and they're pricey in the UK.
