<fieldset><legend><font face=verdana color=navy>Hello everyone,</legend>
We have a DS-2000 system with Intramail. We have call waiting set-up which beeps when there is a call while we are on the phone. A call waiting call currently simply keeps ringing till I hangup the phone then it rings locally.

The problems is: How can we set-up the system so a call waiting after three or so rings will forward to voicemail while I am still on the phone (like a cell phone)?

Thanks for all your time & effort.

I'm assuming this is carrier provided call waiting, in which case the only way it can be dealt with is within the carriers network. If you want to handle these calls there will be a cost involved, you can either have a carrier based voicemail box provided (which they will charge you for), or you can set up a forward busy in the carriers network to another line on your system and handle that call accordingly. However with the latter you will be charged for the forwarded call.

However if you have more than one line on your system why not just have them put into a rotary group and that will solve the call waiting problem at minimal if any cost.

Yes, it is a carrier provided call waiting. The option for carrier based call waiting voicemail sounds like a good option. (Intramail card will have to go, any bids!!)

Just curious,,,but didn't you look into the feature set of the voice mail before you purchased it. The IntraMail system is a pretty powerful system for its size and cost. Besides that, I don't think that any vm system will do what you're asking.
If you're really going to sell the IntraMail email or PM me your asking price...i might be interested.

If you are a business and using call waiting, get real, open your wallett and buy more phone lines, your missing business and $$$$. nothing but a click
and sounding like you have been cut off if you answer and no message or music on hold. And no reasonable way to know when you have a message.
I call to buy, you let me go to Phone co VM. I leave message. You talk for 20 min and then forget to check for message. later some one cks vmail and calls me back, I have already called your competition, sorry. mad :bang: :bang:

Brokeda, you are right on the money. Unfortunately, I am unable to convince my boss with this and really hate to see him buy services from some third party company to intercept busy calls for a VM. But I am going to it another try in convincing him for a better route (money is no object for this guy, not yet atleast). Hopefully, he is in the "sure, no problem" attitude.

most folks will use carrier based voicemail if they cant afford to install voicemail in their phone system. you already have the intramail, so why not use it. do yourself a favor and add a line or two into hunt. i think you'll find that the money you're losing by customers getting busy signals, or worse yet the CO's weak version of voicemail, will more than justify the expense of more incoming lines.
