hello all i am new to the forums here and loking for some advice..

Just came to a company that has a SV8100 installed with some dt700 series phones..

Upon arriving i was told that the system is not working they way they wanted it... When the reciptionist is on the her line either on an external or internal call, any calls coming in at that time go straight to the VM system...Now i am not sure if the 8100 is designed in a way to have multiple lines ring to the same extension instead of going to voice mail... any help is GREATLY appreciated....

Thank you in advance...

Sounds as though the main main incoming number is being routed directly to receptionist's phone extention rather than a ring group or incoming virtual.

You're going to have to call the installer and let them know that this is happening. SV8100 is a new product and you should be able to get them to correct this for free, if it wasn't installed/programmed correctly from the get go.

If you access the system programming yourself you will likely void any warranty from the original installing dealer.

Change her call forward setting from Call Forward Busy to the voice mail pilot to Call Forward no answer to the voice mail pilot.

As doghart advised, call the NEC vendor to assist you with this. It should be an easy fix.
