Have used Norton Internet security for over 5 years. I do not have a pop up issue, the anti-spam is about 85-90% effective on putting the spam in the spam folder. I usually get about 20-30 emails a day of that about 3-5 get thru. I always keep up to date on the update patches, never had a virus in over 15 years. I use the peer to peer file networks all the time, and they are known for virus. I use Mcafee on another computer, pretty much the same as Nortons, their spam thing, unless it has changed, I dont use it very often, but it would send an email to unkown users (spam) requesting them to reply if not it would begin to delete the email, which I didnt care for much.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird for mail and it filters out most spam. And just use Mozilla Firefox w/googlebar and get no popups at all.

Most of my issues are from unsolicited emails. Popups are easily managed. I'm looking for the best Outlook addon that can filter mail based on specific words, phrases, maybe even IP addresses. Thanks guys for the responses.

www.cloudmark.com

I think they still have a free trial, then subscription. Pretty reasonable, and it works pretty well. They also have server-based solutions. It's a community concept, where your info goes along with other info to make up the list of emails to filter.

I've used Cacutus spam filter before and it works well. It is free and can be found at https://www.codeode.com/spamfilter/

A lot of the big ISP's offer this service for free. I'm now using Earthlink's service and it works very well. Used to get about 100 junk emails a day. Now it's about 5.
