I have a few Linux and BSD servers out there. No workstations though.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. We have intranet ftp servers, email servers, web servers, file servers, etc that are completely BSD.

As for workstations though....I still say anything but widows (and accasional MAC) is more hassle than I am willing to deal with.

Both here although I have only set up one "entire" business (12 employees) with linux (debian sarge) work stations along with file & web servers, their main sales server was leased from the company that did their e-commerce (it had SCO on it) and all went well. Had to keep one windows box in shipping for UPS (supplied by UPS as well) but that was about it. As Microsoft pushes Vista down everyones throats we shall see what happens.

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and panicking like the passengers in his car.

Dont remind me. I have a client that just bought a new HP laptop with vista and for some reason it refuses to boot and get a DHCP address. Not to mention it REALLY loves playing with the older Win XP Pro machines. I smell a format coming on.

I have installed Windows (servers & workstations), Linux (servers) and OpenBSD (Servers/Firewall).

Only time I have been able to use Linux as a workstation was when the client was using all web-enabled app's for his agents. Ubuntu did a nice job. Slackware is my preference for linux servers.
