I keep getting pop ups and messages on websites that my browser (IE6) won't be "supported" any longer, so I'm thinging of upgrading. Has anybody upgraded to IE8 and what are your
experiences?

Yup. No issues. Make sure you enable the compatibility mode for the rare instance that you may need it. Also, after upgrading, install the latest flash and java plug-ins.

I've been running IE8 for over 6 months and have had very few issues. Most websites hate IE6 these days. 8 is definitely faster. Still room for improvement though..there are better browsers.

IE8 seems to work well. I like the inPrivate browsing. You can use that for checking bank information, etc without worrying about cookies being left behind.

The problems I have with other browser are their complete lack of support for Active X. There are many hardware manufactures out there that use Active X to drive their products via a web browser; Speco DVR's being one of them.

I've been keeping IE6 on my laptop because I read someplace where some phone systems wouldn't support the new ones. Any truth to that? If not like Hal I may install the upgrade. I'm a chicken at heart when it comes to these things. laugh

I'm more of a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy. I don't have any problems with IE6.

I have not had any issues with IE8 just vista and I am in no hurry to use windows 7 either. Most vodavi admin software still wants XP.
