Greets.

I have a question regarding the MOH solutions available for the scenario we are currently using.

We now have 6 locations, all using a CIX100 except for the main location which is using a CIX670.

All CIX are interfacing with iES32 Voicemail System.

As it is now, we are using a dish to provide MOH for our customers, but my boss has asked me to look at possible options for MOH + random messages while the customer is on hold.

I have been pointed in the iPRO MOH from Interalia, but I'm wondering if there are other solutions that would interface with our current setup, and/or if we could currently do it with iES32.

Thanks for the advice.

Oliver

I have no idea what equipment you are talking about. How about some manufacturers for the CIX and iES32?

Everything is Toshiba.

Granted I could have posted all of that in the Toshiba section, but it has to do more about MOH, not the CIX/VM system.

There are many MOH/IOH (Music on Hold/Information on Hold) systems out there. There are also many professional companies that provide the scripts and music SDs or whatever it takes to download to the MOH machine. Interalia is a good manufacturer, but so is Premier Technologies and also the ProHold products by IntelliTouch. There are quite a few others--- Skutch, Viking, Bogen, etc.

I am familiar with Illinois Audio Productions from Plano, Illinois----they do a nice job on AutoAttendant recordings and on MOH/IOH recordings. I'm sure there are others. Good luck.

On-Hold Marketing (Canadian company) is a good choice. You can also get it set up so that the updates can be done remotely to all of your sites at the same time, you just have to install the players at each site and either hook them up to the internet or they can send mp3 files to the site.

Your MOH on Toshiba systems is done though the system itself not the IES, you can record on hold music on the IES but it isn't for doing what you are looking at.

If you have some relatively techie person on each site site, and don't change the messages all that often, hear is one easy solution.

Get six used iPod Nanos with power supply on eBay. You can't use the new $49 ones because the recharge port is the same as the audio out port and the next step up is a lot more money.

Record whatever you want and send them out to the sites. To update, just email the file and have someone who can handle it delete and update the file.

You could also use some other cheap MP3 player than an iPod it is just that an awful lot of people know how to use an iPod.

Cheap MP3 = crappy MOH device. They're not designed to run 24/7 and will lock up, change volume level or otherwise cause trouble.

I have a bunch of OnHold Plus OHP-6000 devices in use, and have had no problems.

We're phasing in the file-based MOH on our Mitel systems, using the OHP software to make custom recordings.

I didn't know Apple iPods were "Cheap MP3 = crappy MOH device" and I guess that will be news to the millions and millions and millions and millions of people who own them.

Of course Apple is a tiny backwards computer company that will never make a mark on the world.
