Okay you can do this remotely if it is still going to voice mail when you call the extension through the auto attendant.
Call into system. Get into voice mail programming for the particular extension, let's say 328.
At the call transfer option you should hear "calls are being transferred to voice mail."
Press 1 to change then enter 328. You should hear "calls are being transferred to 328." That will take care of it. Make sure ringer is set up on the phone. Call into auto attendant dial 328 the phone should ring 3 or 4 times then go to voice mail greeting.

Your information is correct, but this issue is solved. The way Mike did it accomplished the same thing. But I agree, using the admin steps, or the user options is easier, but it is solved.
