We sold a lot of Compacts when I was a dealer and now many of them are coming up dead due to bad Ni-Cd batteries in the Ram 1 or Ram 2 cards. They have lots of white fuzz on the battery when you open the Ram card.
I thought you might want to know that you can replace them with a Ni-Mh battery of the exact same size and capacity but no memory effect of the Ni-Cds.
Mouser Electronics, 800-346-6873 has them as part number 672-55608303059 3/V80H VARTA.
They are about $6 each and Paige can just solder a new one in about five minutes. Makes her look like a hero to customers, a repair in five minutes then reprogramming.
Other Samsungs use a memory capacitor, but the Compact definately has a Ni-Cd battery waiting to die. A $6 battery is sure better than shipping it in for repair and you can still charge.
