We have an iDCS100 (Not sure which revision). I would like to set up a Hot Desk arrangement were approx 10 users would share 4 desks.
I have tried the setting up 10 virtual extensions and then programming the "follow me" function into the four handsets (DS-5021D's) but this does not seem to be a function that can be programmed onto a button.
If I go to the handsets and enter 606 followed by the extension it works. The issue seems to be programming the 606 code into a button ... it will only seem to let me programme 600-605.
Is their some reccomended approach to setting up a Hot Desk? (I have read the manual and only found a few vauge reference to "Mobile Office" without any explination.)

The button is an external forward button and it would only forward that one phone's extension. Once the forwarding is programmed the button toggles it off and on. There are many ways for different users to share one desk and one though depending on what your trying to set up it can differ. Explain what you would like to happen if an outside caller calls in. Do you have a full time auto attendant? What voicemail system are you using? If you explain what you would like to happen I could tell you how to make it work.

Well, I guess we are rather backward in our setup. We don't have/use voicemail, ACD or auto attendant; all incoming calls are answered by a receptionist, then transferred to the appropriate extension.
It is difficult for the receptionist to know exactly which "mobile" employee is sitting at which hot desk at any one time. The idea is that the mobile employees take care of that when they arrive at particular desk; then all the receptionist need do is transfer inbound calls to the virtual extension (or similar scheme)assigned to the employee as a pilot.
Of course I could just stick a piece of paper at each hot desk stating something like "(mobile employee), when you use this desk enter code 600, then 605 340n to receive your calls." etc for each mobile employee. I thought there just might be a more elegant way of programming it.
