My customer is trying to add CID. The system is a compact ver. 2.8 with MISC 2 card. I checked MMC312 & 414. No CID information is recieved by the system. I can hear the CID info being sent while monitoring the line with my test set but for some reason I'm still not getting any CID Info. Could there be a compatiblity issue with the CO? The CO is supposed to be a GTE5 Switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Steve

They need a RAM2 card aswell. Does the software (eproms) say cid?

If the system is setup properly to receive CID,you should see the system answer the call before the ringing takes place.Ie the led for the line the call is coming in on should light up red to indicate the system is waiting for the CID info to come down.Do you see anything on the display of the phone sets when the call does start ringing? And remeber that the phones must be part of the ringing to get the CID info from a new call.

Now the led for the line does not turn red prior to the phones ringing. The CID info is not sent when programmed to ring a group or just one station. Because the line is ringing immediately could this indicate a bad 4COP?

The phone HAS to ring in order to get CID. Programm the line on a phone and have that phone in the ring group. That button should be red before the phone has audible ring. I don't believe you have a bad 4COP.

The fact that the line is not lighting up red before the system starts ringing the phone sets indicates to me that you do not have CID enabled properly or maybe a bad Misc 2 card.
