I have a question
You can install an additional cabinet with os7400 using a ethernet cable (UTP)?
basic chassis (MP40) -> to switch -> FIBER -> to switch -> extension chassis (LP40)
The two units are in two different buildings connected with fiber optics.

thanks
Domenico

Domenic Are you saying one 7400 cabinet with extension cabinet in another building if you are dont believe you can do it but you could have another system in another building and link them both together either by spnet or by using a pri card in both sites

I agree with Gerrya. No, you cannot link cabinets in that manner with fiber. Your best option would be SPNET and the associated licensing. Maybe a 7200 in the other building; linked over fiber would be fine in that case.

There is no IP address to IP address communication over those 3' (three) Cat5 cords that link the MP40 and LP40.

Sounds like you need IP phones in the remote building smile
