Hey guys - I acquired a Wirescope 100 ethernet tester in a box of junk someone gave me. The only thing I have is the tester itself, and what looks like a couple serial cables. Anyone know what the specs are for the power adapter? Looking for voltage, amps, and polarity if anyone happens to know.
Thanks!

I believe you will also need a remote to make that baby work.

From what I read, the remote is optional actually - I think it talks to a standard nic for the far end. They did have a remote option but it was extra $$.
(quickly) tried a 9v adapter on it - no go. Feels heavy, so I wonder if it has a battery inside.

I never used a wirescope without the remote end for testing, I do remember a function on the head end unit that would blink a port on a switch when it was plugged into a drop in order to ID a drop. Maybe a deal on a non working setup on E-bay might be the next stop for you, just a thought....

Hi, I'm in a similar situation as you are, but I've got one that only has the power adapter, so I can help you out a little bit - it's 12VAC 1000mA. You can find the manual and software upgrades on Agilent's website (they bought out Scope Communications). Wirescope 100 Technical Support Search There is a remote loopback device (which I do not have) that is called passive by the documentation, but seems to be semi-active (blinks, you can set an ID on it). According to the diagram on the front from an eBay auction: T568A Signal Pairings --------------------- A: P1 3-6 P2 4-5 B: P3 1-2 P1 3-6 C: P3 1-2 P4 7-8 So I'm considering making a plug that bridges those pairs and trying it out, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Hope that helps -Jack
