My Infostar DVX is out of service. Does anyone know of a VM system that is readily compatible with Executone IDS 42. I would like to also record all incoming and outgoing calls through the system if possible.

What do you mean by record?

Do you just want to print reports?
Or are you wanting SMDR?

You can dd a picky-back board to IDS42 to give you more RS232 ports to hookup a printer.

I think he wants to record the actual telephone calls.

PVJ is correct, I want to record the actual conversations with proper notification to the users. My company uses the phone for dispatching and I need the recordings for reference.

Usually a voicemail system that can record is made by the same company as the phone system.Why? Well it requires a system that is integrated to the switch not interfaced like a 3rd party voicemail.The only way a 3rd party voicemail could do it would be through conferencing which is really messy to do.
