Can someone help me? I have a ESI600 PBX system and at least once a week I lose the ability to dial out on the my phones. I get a quick busy signal. I can receive incoming calls. What do I need to do to resolve this problem?

I'll try! Well lets start from the beginning. When you say once a week I'm assuming this to be at random times but probably during a busy time in the office. I'm trying to get to the possibility of your business not having enough lines in the line group to handle the requests for line access?
What ya think?

What type of lines ? How do you access the line to dial out ? Is this a CS-600 or one of the older ones ?

When trying to dial outbound, after entering the number, I get a quick busy signal. The only way I can dial outbound is to re-boot the ESI-600 PBX system.

I can leave the office on Friday and return over from the weekend which is Monday and can not dail out until the ESI PBX system is re-booted.

How do you access the line to dial out ? If you are using a PRI check mailbox 598 to see if there are any alarms from the PRI.

You can check it now and any alarms from previous (not being able to dial out),If there are any alarms once it tells you the alarm press 2 for the time and date of the alarm. You might want to double check with the provider and in the system to make sure it is set for NI2

Also, next time this pops up, before you reboot, take a look at the lcd screen on your phone and note which lines are in use. That'll help diagnose. If you've got a cell phone camera handy, grab a shot of it.

Make sure you have disconnect supervision on your lines. Could be locking up on the auto attendant / voice mail , when someone hangs up and the phone company does not see the disconnect. Once you reboot the system you release the lines. You could also try pulling the bridge clips on the phone system CO Lines and see if that releases them, that way you will know if you have to put disconnect supervision on your lines.
Also check the software version and make sure you have the latest.
