I am looking for some input on the path I want to proceed down..

1) Music source for background noise, currently its a radio that is played at a level that annoys some depending on where your at in the office.

2) Overhead paging - for the rare instances I might need it from the ESI 100

3) WX Alerts - When there is a legit WX alert (and WX ONLY!) I want it to interupt music, chimes, and paging and play the alert audio

4) Chimes and alerts - We have a couple of office doors that have the ever so high tech bells on the doors, actual, physical bells. Its junky, tacky, decidedly low tech, and I hate.

What I am looking for is suggestions on what overhead paging amp to use to connect with a

Radio Design Labs
https://www.rdlnet.com/product.php?page=19

This would provide door opening chimes for the two doors via contacts, plus it would allow for alarms on various areas.

Most likely will be a Reecom WX Alert radio
https://www.reecominc.com/r1650.htm

Unless I find something I like better.

EAS via FM radio may not activate for items I want, and may active for items I do not, same goes for NOAA. Reecom allows for disabling items like missing child etc..

For speakers I would like to use:
Valcoms 2x2 ceiling tile recplacement speakers V-1422 One-Way, Signature Series, Hi-Fidelity
https://www.valcom.com/techsupport/speaker_ts/lay-inceiling.htm

Comments on the best paging amp to tie this together...

Probably be 2-3 of these in the office area and 1 in another office area.

If it had zones to feed differing background music/audio to those zones (2-3 tops) would be great, but not a must.

Comments....

Thanks!

I've never had a crazy paging application like this. When i have had anything other than normal i have made use of the manufacturer's tech support.

I would suggest you call Valcom or Bogen or whoever you are going to buy the paging stuff from......their tech support usually is pretty good with this off the wall stuff.

I would suggest Bogen with one of the multiple imput amplifiers. We have a complex that has XM, Weather Radio and Normal Paging. You are really asking for a lot from one source. Like Upstate said call Valcom or Bogen or even Viking's Tech support and they can get you going in the right direction.

welcome

Good Luck

You may want to look at something like this:

Multiple inputs selectable to zones.
