I have a quick question. Is there a way to access voicemail from an outside line? I believe I can do it once the call goes into our voicemail by pressing # and extension number but I would like to know if there's a way to do it so I get the voicemail prompt before someone has enough time to answer the call? Or they would have to transfer me to my voicemail and then I go through the # and password? Any answer will be appreciated. Thanks.

Answering party has to transfer you to VM. There is no way to divert you call to VM while it is ringing.
You could have your vendor set up a backdoor # that rings directly to VM.
