I have 2 PRI's each at 2 sites, all connected to the same phone system (geographic redundant Nortel CS1000E). I recently had AT&T setup each of the pair of PRI's to alternate-route to the other set, so DID's would continue to reach the CS1000E if the other two PRI's were down. They set it up, but I didn't have time to test it until after hours. When I tested it out, I found that the DID's all pointed to the BTN of the other PRI's, and then followed the routing of that BTN, not the routing of the individual DID's.
My assumption is that there is something set incorrectly on the C.O. side, with it following the BTN of the other PRI and dropping the DNIS info, instead of hitting the trunk group of that PRI. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I always understood alternate routing to be akin to trunk forwarding. Most telcos are asked to route those kinds of calls to LDN...usually the pilot number of a POTS hunt. If translated THAT way, it's no surprise that, in your case, alternately routed calls would receive the same treatment as any other call that was placed directly to the "other LDN".
I'm hoping that Anthony will chime in here. I'll bet there's a way for a 5E to accomplish this, but we need to hear from someone who really knows his stuff.

Anthony has already chimed in via PM. I'm going to open a "trouble" (it should be "never worked to begin with") ticket. We'll see how it goes.
Tim, happy birthday in a couple hours.
