Hello -

I've done some googling in this forum, as well as googling google, looking for a pet immune (43 lb Huskie) motion sensor. I'e found ones made by DSC and PIR that claim to be immune to pets.

I havn't activated my alarm while away because of the dog. I know, sort of defeats the purpose of an alarm system, but I do use it at night.

I also don't arm it when away as I didn't have a dialer (it's an unmonitored system). Well, I'll have a dialer soon and the pet issue is going to need to be resolved.

I was looking for any feedback from the good folks on this forum - what do you use/what product gives you the least customer grief for false alarms? Product brochures are one thing, real life experience is another....

TIA -

Matt

Have you checked into Pulsors, an under floor sensor? They are a piezo crystal that epoxies to the bottom of a floor joist. The maximum coverage area for each sensor is only about 3x6 feet, but they are fully adjustable for sensitivity and are rated to ignore pets to 60 pounds. They also are not falsely tripped by bugs or air currents from HVAC. You just have to place them in strategic locations.

Just my $0.02.

look into Honeywell's" IS2535 " series of motions. They will ignore pets up to 80lbs if properly installed. I have had a lot of luck with them.
