That's not a call director. I really don't know where you'd find one and if Ed hasn't chimed in that's not a good sign. Here's a picture of a call director, they came in various button sizes.

Yeah, that's going to be a tough one. 2830/31 is much easier to find. I haven't seen call directors anywhere in years except occasionally on e-bay. My guess would be to try e-bay using "Western Electric" as the search item, but make sure to exclude "antique, old, oak, candlestick, rotary, capacitor, relay, resistor, coil, tube, tubes and early" or you will be there all day. I think to find one that is black AND touch tone might be limiting your choices, so if you find one, you might have to enlist the services of a refurbisher to paint the plastic for you.

I installed many of these in the Air Force and I never saw a black one that I recall. They were all that wonderful color that is in the link justbill posted.

I already found a Northern electric version, but the one of the picture is more the one I'd like to buy...

To Ed : I'm still looking for a WE 82A/B/C connecting block too. Make offer !

I received my Call Director (Northern Electric version) 18 button. All fine exept that I can't hear the ringer... Any schematics somewhere ?? Also need to know if there's a buzzer or only a ringer. Only use at home on line 1 wihout a KSU.

The bell is probably connected to the yellow/slate pair inside the telephone. Remove the bell leads and terminate them on the white/blue pair.

If there is a buzzer in the telephone it will probably be 18 volts ac. and if memory serves me correctly it would be connected to the violet/orange pair.

There were 90-105 volt buzzers back in the day so you may have one. Just make sure which one you have before connecting it to anything.

no they wasn't there. black on L2, red on K. and the 2 others not plugged.
I tryed many other things but nothing works. Did you mean that, in the end, the bell would be directly connected on the 2 wires of the home line ?
