Well I 'should' have an extra fuse, but I like to tinker, so the one that's in there now was the spare  I'll check out an auto parts store in my travels today. Thanks guys!

Jeff: I just blew the same fuse a couple of months ago and had a heck of a time finding a replacement. The 3 amp fuse, I found out, is designated 24B by Western Electric. This fellow on the Bay thing seemed to have have a good supply of them: qaz-trader If you can't find the right fuse anywhere, just PM me with your address and I'll drop a couple of the extras I have in an envelope for you.

I was told a long time ago to use a thin piece of solder across the terminals. He said he could use a razor blade and cut a notch out of it to conform to different size amp ratings.
I've never tried it but it makes sense.

Actually, I discovered (many moons ago) that speaker voice-coil wire, out of a two-inch speaker, is the perfect gauge for a temporary repair until you can get some actual replacements. Normal soldering heat will usually burn through the wire's thin varnish coating.
I seem to recall, at one point, Cooper-Bussman made the flat fuses under their type code WER, but I can't seem to find anything current (no pun intended) for them along those lines.
