I have a customer that inherited an IDS42 version Z and they want to have caller ID. Does this system have that capability?? If so, how difficult is it to get a program manual?

I wasn't in on the Executone system at the end of its life so I may be wrong but you would need the correct software level to begin.To add call display you would also need an outboard call display unit that Executone was using and use a serial port from that into the system.
If I'm wrong someone else wil let you know but that's what we had to do back in the days.

Sure it could at the end it was running 42/84 software.

You need 8.2.4 Software, an MLX-8, and the CID option. Bob at RMS should be able to help you with the equipment. The MLX-8 gets connected to the CO lines in parallel with the system. Connect a standard modem cable from the MLX-8 to the I/O port on the system. You must program the I/O port with the proper computer port type and the CID screen.
If your not having fun, go find something else to do.
