I'm having an interesting issue. The SMDR output is hooked up and pumping lots of data. However every now and then (especially when switching between inbound and outbound calls) the stream will lose characters. This renders the output useless. Anyone seen anything like this? I am running software version 14.66.04 off a serial port.

TIA

I've never seen such problem as loosing characters on Coral SMDR. So - a lot of questions will rise.
SW 14.66.04 ? Are you sure it is not 14.66.24?
Do you use hardware flow control? What program do you use on you PC to collect SMDR output? And which characters disappeared - dial number or any character from the stream?

-My software version is correct (04)
-The cable is about 15 feet.

I think I found the problem, but don't know how to fix it. What is happening is that the PBX is sending variable-length records only under certain circumstances. Normally I get a dialed number of a max of say 15, maybe more characters (up to 27 I think). But when they dial a number of more than 15 in a certain format (19xxxyyyzzzz8883-88838), the SMDR record is inserted with a line feed and a bunch of spaces to make the data after the dash "line up" as a printed record on a page.

So, how can I get the PBX to turn this "feature" off? No one seems to have a manual. Any help greatly appreciated.

On SMDR control,
turn "SINGLE_LINE_OUTPUT" to Y
will give you single CR LF for each SMDR record
