Hi folks. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before.

I have a customer that's using a T1 connected to a Cisco 243x IAD for VoIP phone service. The IAD is handing off several FXS lines to a customer-provided Allworx 10x PBX.

On the PBX the customer is running the built-in IVR. The problem occours when a call comes in and is picked up by the IVR. As expected, while the person is listening to the IVR the port state is "off-hook". However, if the calling party hangs up while the IVR is still playing the port goes "on-hook" for a second, then is pulled "off-hook" again by the PBX. The line stays in an "off-hook" state until the IVR completes then returns to "on-hook". These are loop-start lines off the IAD. I have tried fwd disconnects and supervisory disconnects but they have had no effect. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sounds like a case of disconnect supervision not working. COuld be something as simple as setting a timer in the Allworx. Usually 500-700ms I would think as in most PBX/key systems that happends to be the case.

Why are you doing an FXS-FXO conversion? Your ITSP traffic should be terminated in the 10X--not the Cisco.

This sounds more like an integrated T with an analog handoff rather than an ITSP providing sip trunks.

That's correct. The IAD is provided by the ISP/VoIP provider. The 10x is customer-provided equipment.

Interesting that you mention the FXS-FXO conversion. From reading the brief tech doc on the 10x, I couldn't tell if it's ports were FXS or FXO, or if that was an option the end-user could choose.

On the other hand, I did find that a firmware upgrade on the Cisco IAD resolved this issue.

The 10x has 16 ports, 1-3 are CO only, 4-9 are configurable as CO's or station ports. 10-16 are station only. 4-16 can also be programmed as analog did's.

Was a firmware upgrade done or were some command line code changes made. I've got a similar situation with the same model Cisco and would like to know which software version it needs to be at. Disabling VAD and altering CPC did nothing to allow calls in the AA to disconnect.
