Yes, I am glad it was a wiring issue, also. I have to agree with Ed, though, I didn't think it could be a polarity issue and wouldn't have believed it until I saw it. Clipping off the RJ11 ends and putting on new ends with the order of the wires reversed did the trick. I didn't specifically test if the SBX cared about the polarity, but it makes sense that it does not and that is why I assumed initially that the alarm system wouldn't either.

An alarm system using Comcast's ATA? I'm alarmed! i just hope there are no life and death issues on this alarm.

I see more and more people trying to save a buck.. They switch from 5-10 POTS lines to SIP trunks and then want to run Alarm panels and fax machines over SIP, not really understanding if the 1 data circuit goes down.. Now you have no internet phones alarms... how ever will you manage to work... Silly end user, SIP is for the pros... I don't even want to start with Comcast. I could bad mouth there data for days.
The Tech of Southwest Michigan Stevensville, MI 269.277.8103 How do I get the blue smoke back into the system??
