What are the oldest Rev levels that can be upgraded to FP4? I need it for the MPB-1 but would also like to have it for the MPB-2 & XTSc-IP. I had all this info earlier but seem to have lost it. Thanks!

I think any mpb 2 or e or XTSc can be uggraded to FP4. A rule of thumb for the mpb1 is you can upgrade any that have the ethernet port on them without any trouble. Older ones without that port may not have enough ram. That has been my experience anyway.

On the older XTS MPB boards, I think the MPB board had to have "REV5" or greater stamped/screened on the board to have enough memory to jump past v2.23. It was towards the top edge of the board. You may not be able to see the marking when it's inserted into the ksu.

I believe all the XTSc boards can be upgraded. I never had an issue upgrading an XTSc.

A problem I had when upgrading was that I couldn't upgrade to ver 4 if current version in the KSU was not at least v2.23. V2.23 was the last version of software that could fit into older version MPB. If the system you are upgrading already has v3.00 or newer in it, ver 4 would be no problem.

Thanks guys. I did several upgrades last spring and I thought the MPB-1 needed to be at least Rev 1.4. I'm going to continue digging a little deeper into my piling system to see if I can find my missing notes.

I have an upgrade scheduled for Friday and have a couple of MPBs with FP2 that I can play with here in my shop. I hope there will be an error warning if there isn't enough memory. It kills the system to lose power during an upgrade but I don't know about error messages. The only thing I like scrambled is my eggs.

Here is the tech fact info for FP3. It applies to FP4 also.

"The MPB 1 hardware issue level must be 4 or greater. MPB 1 boards with issue 3 or lower cannot be upgraded to FP 3"

Thanks again guys.
