I have a customer who wants us to install a additional card to their SV8100, when we install the CD-16DLCA can someone tell me what we are going to encounter as far as programming issues? If we have a programming manual do we have everything we need to program this? Difficulty on a scale of 1-10 10 being, don't even attempt it.
Thanks in advance.

If you aren't certified and don't know what you are doing? I wouldn't suggest it.

11. If you are not intimate with this platform you should hire a NEC tech to assist you.

Guys I realize it will be extremely difficult for joe homeowner walking in off the street trying to do this, but that's not the case here. We have programming experience. Can anyone PM me so we could discuss some of the basics to get us started on this? We have the programming manuals, just looking for a little bit of experience to help us get started. Customer has decided on the 8 port instead of 16. Thanks again.

If it's the last card in the system then there should be no problems . If your system is getting close the it max port capacity (64 ports) license wise then you may find that the new card is not recognized and that's when it gets expensive..
If its an expansion to a 8 port card and it's not the last card then you will have to reprogram all the ports / numbers associated with the existing 8 ports to the new 16 ports that the system will assign. At this point it may be difficult if your not familiar with the system..

So let's save a few bucks, buy some un-warrantied parts and void a 5 year system warranty, hope we don't need licenses and dig for assistance from those who make a buck selling and installing this stuff for free off internet....
Call a dealer, it will take a certified tech less than 90 minutes to setup 16 stations.
It's doubtful you'll get a step by step from anyone here on how to do this.
