SBX Attendant Ring on Busy. Have a customer with SBX-IP with PRI & DIDs. Inbound calls ring to lone receptionist and if she(or he) is on the phone only the DSS lights.

Is there a "Ring on Busy" feature? If so could someone please translate the language. I have been searching my manual but just dont speak "Korenglish" to well.

Thanks

Are you routing the DID to a hunt group or just the receptionist extension?

Hunt groups allow for an overflow to an AA, but don't allow a second call to ring the telephone.

If ringing the individual extension, make sure DID Call Wait is turned on in STA ATTRIB IV.

That would be the issue then, the hunt group. You could try changing it to ringing the reception station directly, program preset call forward to the other extension, and change the Preset Call Forward Timer in System Base>Timers to 36 seconds.

This all depends on your situation too. If you are using Preset CF for anything else, adjusting the timer may cause undesirable results for the other applications. But that would be my work around for your scenario to ring the receptionist live with multiple calls.

Again make sure that DID Call Wait is turned on. Changing the Off Hook Ring Type in System Attributes to Burst instead of Mute we've found to be beneficial as well. This gives more of a splash ring instead of a full ring with a lower tone.

I just tested your solution on our lab system and it works perfect. So I remoted into the customer site (Got a database first)and peeked at there HG again and it is set to forward to vmib 1(Main Greeting). So I went back to our lab and preset fwd will will only let me select station or hunt group.

All I can think of is to enact a night ring to vmib 1 and when she is not at her desk she can physically send to vmail. Do you have any other work arounds for this scenario??

Thanks in advance.

Well you can still keep the preset call forward, just forward it to your 620 and set the overflow timer on 620 to 0. I think this should work.
