We installed a CS 600 in a extremely large facility. The customer wanted wireless coverage throughout the facility (over a million square feet) and the only solution we could find was the new EnGenius Pro series. We have been successful integrating the 4X model in previous installs. Before we sold the solution, we verified (in writing) that the products would work witout any hitches. Needless to say, we found that the volume levels on the analog ports are so low that it is not functional. We have ben working with both ESI and EnGenius to find a solution, but no luck! We tried using amplifiers on the analog ports through Mike Sandman with no improvement. Finally, I used a Iwatsu ADIX and a Toshiba DK as a test and both sound great! Basically, we have determined the problem to be in the ESI, and are waiting for ESI to provide a fix. Has anyone had this experience and is so, were you able to resolve the problem? ESI CS 600 ESI-Linked to another 600. (1) PRI with (28) analog cordless phones and 30 digital.

Had the same issue on a 2 cabinet 200. Took them out because we could not make them loud enough. You could adjust all the setting in the Engenius that you wanted and it would compromise something else.

I have had nothing but good with the Engenius product until I connected it to the ESI. I still like it and will continue to use it but not on ESI!

We put several of these in place as a test trial to possibly remove the ESI Cordless II sets with repeaters that were scattered through out the large building. Because they cause us nothing but troubles. They sound much better but a pain in the butt when a repeater gets knocked off line for no apparent reason and its 50 feet in the air and you gotta take it down to pair it back to the other repeater or base.

Good luck.

Did EnGenius TS have you up the volume in the advanced sttings of the handsets?
The procedure isn't in the install quide.
If you need a copy of how to do this,.... e-mail me @ [email protected].

Mike,

I worked with EnGenius adjusting all kinds of setting in phones and ESI on this and never got a solutions. I love the EnGenius product just not paired with the ESI.

We had both ESI and EnGenius test at each others systems at thier offices. Both claim that the levels are within specs, but neither could explain why there is such low volume. It basically comes down to the ESI and the power distribution on the systems. We are basically in a situation where I have no control and stuck in the middle. The customer is demanding a fix and ESI is saying it would be something they will be addressing. As it is, the customer wants it fixed or rip out the whole system - ENGenius and ESI. What a fiasco!

Thanks for the suggestions and follow up. We have a meeting today with ESI senior management and engineers to determine a fix. I'll let you know what the results are!

ESI senior engineers got involved and made modifications to the software. The patch was loaded and is 100% better. Now we have to balance the EnGenius levels and hopefully all is good!
