I desperately need a second set of eyes on this. I think I am thinking too hard! I continually get authentication failed when trying to send voice mail messages via email on an Aspuire M with the Aspire Mail. But when it fails the IMAP 4 logs don't show the gmail server I have an account on but the AT&T / SBC Yahoo mail that is associated with the DSL

Should be a simple issue - Message unification on an Aspire with the Aspire Mail. I've only done 30 + times. I have 7 sites across the US all using the same mail server in CT no problem. I set up new hires/ changes / ,ail server changes / account changes - I always figure it out.

A THOUGHT*
I am not sure what version software is in the Aspiremail - what ever was current 3 or 4 years ago,

This Aspire M is on a residential ATT DSL. That has raised some issues so I set up a GMAIL account, tested it with my PC in outlook on site. OK


Check the DNS OK 8.8.8.8.
Set my PC to 8.8.8.8 and it could still send mail

Checked the gateway and IP - Correct, re-enetered any ways
192.168.0.1
192.168.0.21 : 23 (changed it to 192.168.0.21 : 24 and restarted)

Did a shutdown restart to be sure they stuck



It worked once at 2:16 pm today. Didn't change anything and the IMAP 4 Debug logs shows that it worked

It also worked back in November using an SBC/ATT/Yahoo Email account.

Set it up to a Mail server that has 7 sites all with Aspire Mails unifying through it. It keeps failing saying it is talking to smtp. sbc.yahoo.com  but that is not the mail server I am pointing to. When it works,it shows:
220 mx.google.com ESMTP d13sm28699141vdj.8- gsmtp mx.google,com that is the gmail server registering oK

Then at 16:46: I was using CRAM MD 5 for the Authentication - it shows the correct gmail server denying its authentication and states that it does not support this authentication type. as expected

Then at 16:50: I was using NONE for the Authentication. Only setting I changed. Now it is talking to smtp111.sbc.mail.ne1.yahoo.com

Feb 7th Update.

Received a private message to fill out my profile - I assume a pic, web page, the usually whoring yourself out stuff - lol


And while typing this reply spoke to my dealer and a tech in FLA - We agree that I didn't miss anything and most likely the intermittent gnome is the fact that they are using old school technology with an ATT DSL in the boon docs of CT that was once SNET/ SBC / linked to Yahoo for legal reasons territory.


Logged into my gmail accoint on my work PC from my office to confirm the outbound server settings and there in the inbox is a message from Wed Feb 6th. This arrived AFTER I left Tuesday Fed 5, at 5:10 PM. I have no remote access to the system to do anything. Test calls today seem to arrive in my gmail inbox.

Gmail is not always forwarding to my dot MAC account and I would assume the customers email account... This is becoming an intermittant gnome....





My Notes from this morning Thursday Feb 7, 9:oo AM

Log in via web mail to gmail to see its FWD settings. Outlook is active and web mail on my MAC is open
It was set to FWD to Guy, Randy and Sue AND keep a copy in gmail
Those messages arrived in my outlook gmail account on my PC and 2 of them forwarded to:

(I will assume they also fwd'd to randy and sue OK ) 9:13:00 AM OK

Message at 9:19 AM in my GMAIL inbox did not fwd to my .MAC account. 9;19 am Did not fwd to my mac account

Left a message in MB 400 9:34:00 AM it is in oulooks inbox but did not fwd to my .MAC
