We're trying to change the custom greeting you hear when you call our main number for our office.

We have some documentation from the guy who set it up, and no longer works here. Everything seems fine, until this part "- Press 9 (You will not hear a prompt to press 9" The options after this are not the same as what options it says we will get at this point. It says option 1 is "To send a message to all subscribers, press one" option 3 says "To record a recording".

Not sure what step is wrong here. I have tried this many times with these instructions, and it's the same deal every time.

Here's the instructions we have: (I replaced the mailbox and password with gibberish. Not that it matters, but, just in case.)

Press the V/M button

- Press *

- Enter mailbox #*%#*%
- Enter Password #%@#$%@

- Press 9 (You will not hear a prompt to press 9

- Select option 3 (Custom Recordings)

- Select option 1 (Create custom recordings)

- Enter the recording number

003 – Day & Night US 1

007 – Directory

008 – Billing & Settlement

010 – Zero Out Greeting

012 – Accounting

013 – IT Department

016 - Thunderbird

You will hear a moment of silence, then the voice mail will begin to play what ever is currently playing. At that point you can do the following.

Press # to continue playing the current greeting

Press 3 to record a new greeting.

The instructions are essentially correct.

Log into the admin mailbox and press 9.

When you hear the System Administrator Menu list of options, press 3 to select the Custom Recordings options.

Press 1 to make a custom recording.

Enter the recording number. If a recording exists, it is played. If not, go to the next step.
* To hear the recording again, press 1.
* If you wish to leave the recording unchanged, press #.
* If you wish to re-record the recording, press 3 and continue to the next step.

When prompted, record the greeting.

When you have completed your recording, press #.

If you wish to hear your recording, press 1.
*To erase and re-record your recording, press 3.
*If you are satisfied with your recording, press # to save it.

Thank you for the reply. After entering the password, I had to wait for it to go through all menu options before pressing 9. Then it gave me the correct menu with the Custom Recording's option.
