hey all, I would like to disable clients from dialing in-house ext's. (Example, You call us you get "thanks for calling, press 2 for bla pres 3 for bla bla and 4 for bla bla bla" we Do Not want them being able to dial lets say 101 to get to Joe Smith, We want them to be forced into the prompts and not dial Joe Smith Directly.
I was looking all over but i can't seem to find anything to disable this other then disabling the prompt (we did) any help would be great! thanks!!

If memory serves me correct, you can disable an extension being dialed off the auto attendant under "extension" programming. Find out what auto attendant is answering calls first.

thanks for the quick reply, I went to my "Home > Phone System > Extensions > PICKED USER" and i do not see much that will optout of AA Dial now. I do however see the Auto Attendant Selection Check boxes below to include the user in the Dial-By-Name and Dial-By-Directory menus for the attendant: I Unchecked the AA's that should not of direct dial yet i can still dial 101 and get to Joe Smith. Seems i can only disable the message and the dial by name/directory but not from directly dialing the Ext.

If you have the choice put None or Undefined by the 1 in the 1 digit dial list. Most likely now has XXX by the 1.

Since your using auto-attendant why don't you try this: In the auto-attendant say 1 if that what your using under the one key dial # 1 put Auto-Attendant 1..then if someone presses 1 it should loop them back to your auto-attendant instead of ext. transfer...Worth a shot !

Thanks Bob, Not a bad work around, if people are slow about putting ext in it works if they are to quick it moves the call to the ext. this will work for the most part, THANKS! Can't believe i did't think of something so simple haha.
