Can anyone tell me if an Inter-Tel Axxess 9.0 system can be connected to an Avaya PBX? If so, what is required on both sides?

Depends on what you want to do. Simple way to do it is with a T1 connection with channels set up as E&M. Users at either end would have to dial an access code to get to the features / extensions at the other end. Another scenario I have seen is a long distance company offers a type of networking service where the T1's go to the LD company for LD service, but their switch recognizes an outgoing call consisting of 3 or 4 digits and will route that call to the other location's T1 as a DID call. If T1 service/circuit cards are too expensive, you can connect single line extensions from both ends to trunk ports at the opposite end.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Out of curiousity, why would you want to do that?
